Fabrication of Colored Polymeric Membrane Using Clay-Based Nano Pigments of Safranin O (SO) Dye

In the present work, a novel methodology was developed for fabrication of clay-based nano pigments with enhanced thermal stability and used further as colorant to prepare polymeric membranes. Initially, batch extraction studies were performed analyze maximum adsorption Safranin O (SO) dye onto pristine montmorillonite (Mt) organo (OMt) by varying different parameters like pH, contact time, concentration. It confirmed from that efficacy Mt SO found be more than OMt due their negatively charged surface. Clay-based fabricated considering optimized condition where uptake observed characterized XRD, FTIR, TGA, SEM techniques. XRD intercalation while FTIR spectra revealed surface interaction Mt/OMt. TGA showed had pure SO. Nano colorants thin, transparent, homogeneously dispersed membranes through solvent casting method. membrane poly methylmethacrylate (PMMA) into interlayer clay increases spacing, which TEM analysis. The mechanical properties PMMA also after dispersion pigments.
